We welcome articles from advocates and legal professionals who want to share clear, useful legal knowledge with a Kenyan audience. Contributing is a way to demonstrate your expertise and reach people who are actively looking for legal help. The following guidelines explain what we accept and how to submit.

Articles may be submitted by advocates and legal professionals. Each article is published under the name of an individual author, together with the firm where the author practises. We do not publish articles under a firm name alone or under a team byline. The author must be a real, named individual who can stand behind the content.

Every published article carries the author's name and the firm where they practise. Articles include a short author bio of 50 to 100 words. The views expressed in a contributed article are those of the author. Articles are general information and not legal advice, and this is noted on every article.

Articles must be original and previously unpublished. Do not submit content that appears elsewhere online or that has been submitted to another publication.

We do not accept AI-generated content. Submissions are checked, and content that fails our checks will be rejected.

Articles should be between 1,000 and 1,800 words. Longer, in-depth pieces are welcome where the length is justified by the substance.

Content must be accurate and current. Where you refer to legislation, cases, regulators, or procedures, cite them correctly.

Write in plain, professional language suitable for readers who are not lawyers. Lead with the answer, then explain.

The tone must be educational and neutral. Overly promotional articles, thin or superficial pieces, and mere restatements of legislation will not be accepted.

Articles must be your own work, must not infringe anyone's rights, and must comply with the advertising and professional conduct rules of the Law Society of Kenya.

Links must serve the reader and the subject of the article. The following rules apply to every contributed article.

You may link to authoritative public and institutional sources where relevant, including the Law Society of Kenya, the Judiciary, Parliament, the Constitution of Kenya, and official legislation. These links are encouraged where they help the reader.

You are encouraged to link to your own listing or profile on Law Firms in Kenya. These internal links do not count toward your external link allowance.

Over the entire period you publish with us, you may include a maximum of two links to your own firm website across all your articles. This is a one-time allowance, not a per-article allowance. Once you have used your two links, any further links to your own website in later articles will be added as non-credit links.

Links to personal or firm social media profiles are not permitted within article content.

We do not accept articles whose primary purpose is to promote a product or service, and we may decline or adjust any link that does not serve the reader.

Every submission is reviewed before publication. We check that the article meets these guidelines, that the legal information is accurate and current, and that the content is original. We may edit submissions for clarity, structure, length, and house style, and we may request revisions before accepting a piece. We reserve the right to decline any submission, and to update, unpublish, or remove any article. Acceptance and publication are at our editorial discretion.
